The Gambia Ferry Service reports that both the Kunta Kinteh and Kanilai ferries are currently undergoing maintenance, causing delays for passengers.
In a press release, the Gambia Ferry Service confirmed that both the Kunta Kinteh and Kanilai ferries are undergoing maintenance, leaving passengers waiting for extended periods without a ferry.
“The Management of the Gambia Ferry Service would like to inform the public and our valued customers using the Banjul-Barra ferry route that there is a disruption of service due to maintenance on both the Kunta Kinteh and Kanilai ferries,” the statement reads.
According to the ferry service, both ferries experienced technical issues last night at different times, leading to their withdrawal from service.
“The Technical Services Department is currently working diligently to ensure that both ferries are back in operation as soon as possible. The management of GFS apologizes to the public, especially our passengers, for any inconvenience this may have caused,” the statement concludes.
