The Deputy spokesperson of the Alliance for Patriotic, Reorientation, and Construction (APRC), Dodou Jah has disclosed that there are people who want him to form a new party and they will finance it.

Mr. Jah made the revelation on Kerr Fatou’s ‘Politic Kaacha’ show as a guest on Tuesday.

“Even yesterday (Monday) someone called me at night and we had a discussion. He said he would love for me to sit and discuss with other people. He scheduled the meeting on this coming Sunday (21st August 2022), but I told him that I will be busy on Sunday because I would have a family meeting,” he said.

The eloquent APRC spokesperson said those people want him to form a political party that he would lead.”That’s what they want. But is it going to happen? I don’t know.”

“We will discuss and see, because it’s not a small thing. People are even telling me not to contest the Mayoral election. They believe that I am loved by Gambians and I deserve more than being a mayor. That’s their belief. Others call me Mayor right now, when I go out. That’s how they think. If people come out and say they want you to be this, and you said no, then you are spoiling your politics. That means you are against what people want you to be. If people say they want this, if you know politics, you cannot say no. They want to sit and discuss with me about forming a political party and they will finance everything,” Jah continued.

Replying to if he would be interested to form a new party after the scheduled meeting with the person suggesting him to form a political party, he said: “You don’t form a party like that. First, I belong to a political party, which is the APRC. If I go up to a stage where I got interested, I will go back to the APRC, discuss with them, and return the position they gave me. That is, if I will be up for the challenge.”

Dodou Jah is the Deputy Spokesperson of the Alliance for Patriotic, Reorientation, and Construction (APRC).
