A fatal motor accident in Kiang reportedly claimed the lives and severely injured many believed to be NPP supporters travelling for Barrow’s nomination scheduled for Thursday.
The unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday night in Kiang.
A source disclosed to this medium that those who sustained injuries were quickly rushed to the Bwiam Hospital in Foni and the closest major clinic in the area.
The source further disclosed that the vehicle was travelling from the hinterland to the Greater Banjul Area for the nomination of President Adama Barrow.
Meanwhile, the United Democratic Party sympathised with the NPP on the loss and called on its supporters to mourn the deaths.
“We have just been informed of the tragedy that befell the NPP vehicles on their way to their nomination tomorrow. We pray Allah grants the departed Jannah and heals the wounded. We ask all our supporters to mourn their death, this is sorrowful for every Gambian,” UDP tweeted on Wednesday night
