Kebba Bojang, presidential aspirant for the National Democratic Party (NDP), has said his record of community development and personal investment in public welfare distinguishes him from other candidates seeking the presidency in the December 5 election.

Speaking at the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) on Friday after submitting his nomination papers, Mr. Bojang, a former national youth president of the ruling National People’s Party (NPP), said his contributions to healthcare, education, and agriculture demonstrate his commitment to national development.

He argued that, unlike other presidential aspirants, he had invested his personal resources in improving the lives of people in his community long before seeking public office.

“Before seeking the presidency, I have contributed in health, education, and agriculture. I have shown the people that I can do something for them before seeking the presidency,” he said.

Mr. Bojang maintained that his approach to leadership is rooted in practical development initiatives rather than political promises, citing projects he said he personally financed in his hometown.

He challenged other presidential aspirants to demonstrate comparable records of community development undertaken before their bids for the country’s highest office.

The NDP aspirant said his experience working with communities had given him a firsthand understanding of the challenges facing Gambians and strengthened his conviction that he could address them if elected president.

He expressed confidence in his ability to bring meaningful change to the country, arguing that his development record provides voters with a basis for assessing his leadership potential.

Reflecting on his tenure as national youth president of the NPP, Mr. Bojang said he had worked closely with Gambians across different communities and earned their trust through his leadership.

He maintained that those who worked with him during his time in the ruling party could attest to his management style, commitment, and ability to deliver results.

Mr. Bojang said his record in both community development and political leadership makes him a credible alternative for Gambians seeking a change in the country’s leadership ahead of the December presidential election.
