Fatou Touray, the chief executive and founder of Kerr Fatou Media, has been honored with the 2026 Gambian Women Champions Award by the Raise The Young Foundation in recognition of her contributions to media development, gender equality, and advocacy in The Gambia.
The award was presented on Tuesday by Yankuba Keita, the foundation’s executive director, during an event commemorating International Women’s Day.
In a statement, the organization highlighted Ms. Touray’s leadership and her role in promoting media excellence while amplifying underrepresented voices. It also commended her efforts to advance women’s empowerment and contribute to a more informed and inclusive society.
The foundation said the recognition reflects her “resilience, leadership, and unwavering commitment” to driving social change through journalism and public engagement.
