The information was conveyed to the GFF top brass in a brief letter on 26th January, 2021, signed by Mukul Mudgal, chairman of the FIFA Review Committee.

“We kindly inform you that the Review Committee has declared you eligible for the position of member of the FIFA Council,” the letter stated.

It comprised of 37 members: A President elected by the FIFA Congress; eight vice presidents, and 28 other members elected by the member associations, with at least a female representative from each confederation for a term of four years.

The President and the members of the Council may serve for no more than three terms in office, whether consecutive or not.
