Trust Bank Awards Top 10 Best Students Of 2021 GABECE

Trust Bank Gambia Limited awarded top ten best students of 2021 Gambia Basic Education Certificate Examination (GABECE).
Suwadu Jammeh, of Methodist Academy emerged first as the overall best student with aggregate six (6) and aggregate score of 83.91.
Salieu Njie of St. Therese’s Upper Basic School emerged second position with aggregate six (6) and aggregate score of 82.45.
Musa Tamba of St. Peter’s Upper Basic School came third with aggregate six (6) and aggregate score of 81.69.
Bubacarr Baldeh of Anne Marie Javouhey, in the fourth position has aggregate six (6) and aggregate score of 81.48.
Ibrahima Faal of Gambia Methodist Academy in the fifth position got aggregate six (6) and aggregate score of 81.14.
Pateh Bah of Kunkujang Keitaya Upper Basic School in the sixth position scored aggregate six (6) and aggregate score of 80.76.
Yusupha Kandeh of Malada Upper Basic School in the seventh position pulled aggregate six (6) and aggregate score of 80.38.
Baba Samura of Brikama Upper Basic School in the eighth position obtained aggregate six (6) and aggregate score of 79.42.
Kadijah Jammeh of Wordsley Upper Basic School in the ninth position fetched aggregate six (6) and aggregate score of 79.15.
While Ida Sonko of Brufut Upper Basic School in tenth position got aggregate six (6) and aggregate score of 78.74.
Each of the awardees received a bank account with D10, 000, a tablet and a certificate of excellence.
Meanwhile, the most outstanding student received D8, 000 added to his bank account; the school with the highest number of awardees received D20, 000; and the school that produced the most outstanding student received D15, 000.
Speaking at the ceremony Ms. Njilan Senghore, Managing Director of Trust Bank Limited said the event is to help promote quality education, acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of hard working and deserving school girls and boys to encourage future generations to follow in their footsteps.
“To those being honoured here today, let me start by saying congratulations. You should be very proud of yourselves for being counted as the 10 best students out of the total number of 26, 591 candidates that sat for the 2021 GABECE. I had to throw in that number to make you understand your truly remarkable performance that earned you a seat in this front now here today.
“To the parents and guardians of the awardees, congratulations and thank you for your support and guidance. Your efforts have indeed not gone in vain and as your young charges continue their next steps, continue to provide them with the enabling environment, the advice, the guidance and the mentorship that they need. After all, we as parents and guardians have a profound role to play in the development of the young under our care,” she said.
The ceremony took place at a local hotel in Banjul on Friday 25th February 2022.
