Yankuba Darboe, a lawyer and the Deputy Administrative Secretary of Media and Communications for the United Democratic Party has taken to his Facebook page and alleged that the Gambia government and the police are targeting all citizens who dare to speak.
“Gambia Politico: It’s only foolhardy to convince oneself of being able to escape the inevitable. The truth is The Gambia government and its Mighty Gambia Police Force are targeting all of us, as long as we have the will to speak freely!
“Thus they will not stop at Sabally alone but will make all efforts to eliminate all of us, as long as we have the zeal to speak freely! As such, we must not die on our knees, but must die whilst standing that’s my belief!!!,”
The Gambia Police Force (GPF) yesterday said Momodou Sabally was invited to the police for questioning in connection to a video making rounds on media suggesting how the president will be unseated before the local government elections.
They further advised the general public to remain calm and allow the police to do their job without any interference.
