Talib Bensouda To Lay Foundation Stone For Construction of 23 KM Of Roads In KM

Talib Ahmed Bensouda, the Mayor of Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC), continuing his municipality dialogue with the people’s tour, yesterday, told a meeting held in London Corner that his municipality will In the next three months lay the foundation stone for the construction of 23 Kilometres of Roads In KM.
“In the history of KMC, we never had waste trucks as we do right now. Because we have twenty-four waste trucks and every ward has one. All the markets have waste trucks and God wish, this year we will be finished with waste issues because we are ordering seven waste trucks and they will soon arrive. Now we want to concentrate more on roads. We will tell you it was just yesterday that we finalized and we have identified the roads we will build and it’s equal to 23 Kilometres,” he announced.
The Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) mayor also announced that some of the roads will have bridges;
“In London Corner here your road will start from Safideen to Bakoteh and it will have a bridge where even vehicles can cross. The bridge will be 13 meters and seven meters wide so that two vehicles will be able to pass there. Inshallah in the next three months we will lay the foundation stone for the KMC Road Network. And the money is not money that we beg or borrow but will be the money from your taxes,” he said.
The KMC Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda is currently on a Municipality Dialogue with the People’s Tour to discuss community development plans and priority actions for the people of the Municipality as provided in Section 15 (1) and 129 of the Local Government Act, 2002 that Council is answerable to the people (electorates) and Pillar (1) Objectives 1.1.2 of Council’s Strategic Plan.
