Seven KMC UDP Councillors Resign from Party

Seven councillors of the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) have formally resigned from the United Democratic Party (UDP), submitting a joint resignation letter to the party’s administration secretary.
The councillors who tendered their resignation are Famara Fofana (Kololi Ward/Serekunda West), Momodou Suwareh (Transport Councillor), Momodou Harouna Camara (Old Jeshwang Ward), Lamin Dibba (Old Bakau/Cape Point), Karamo Ceesay (Tallinding South Ward), and Joko Fatou Njie (Bundung Six Junction/Mauritania Ward).
In their letter, the councillors stated, “By this letter, we officially withdraw our membership from the UDP and all associated responsibilities within the party structures.”
They affirmed their continued dedication to serving the residents of the Kanifing Municipality, pledging to uphold integrity and commitment in their work.
The councillors emphasized that their decision was taken after careful consideration and rooted in conscience and conviction. They expressed gratitude to the UDP for past opportunities, adding, “And we part ways with no malice but with firm resolve to chart a new course in the best interest of our constituents and The Gambia at large.”
