Muhammed Ndow, the Deputy Party Leader of People’s Progressive Party (PPP) has announced his resignation from the party.
Mr. Ndow ascribed his immediate resignation to time constraints brought about by his post-graduate studies and other time-consuming commitments.
“With a heavy heart and a deep sense of sorrow, I hereby write to tender my resignation from the party effective immediately.
“Currently, I am pursuing a post-Graduate programme in Diplomacy and International
Relations at the Management Development Institute. This programme, together with other engagements, has taken the best of me.
“Based on the abovementioned commitments, I have reasoned that it is unfair of me to keep the position of the Deputy Party Leader and Secretary General. Finally, l am very proud of the successes we have made as a party, and, l am honoured to have served the party in various capacities,” he announced.
Reacting to his Deputy Party Leader’s Resignation, Kebba Jallow, the party leader of the People’s Progressive Party says it is unfortunate that the news came at the wrong time.
“I also received the sad news in the morning that the deputy party leader resigned mainly due to his other engagements. He is studying at GTTI that’s why he cannot continue. Unfortunately, it came at the wrong time, a time we were contesting a very serious seat in the West Coast Region. We put up Jainaba and at this time hearing some sad news of somebody prominent among us resigning is not welcoming news.
“But never the less Muhammed has served diligently and sincerely with the party for so long. He served as a National Assembly Member for PPP which we cherish and will go down in history. He was elected at the Congress so we cannot go and appoint someone like that. We will sit as a committee after the election,” Kebba Jallow told Kerr Fatou.
Kebba Lamin Nanko, a representative of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) last month called for the resignation or suspension of his Party’s Deputy Leader, Muhammed Ndow, for his presence at their candidate’s endorsement of NPP’s candidate Ebou Faye.
