Ebrima Jawo, a renowned artist has confirmed that he will be a candidate for this year’s mayoral race in the city of Banjul under the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) ticket.
The announcement was made on both Mr. Jawo’s personal Facebook page and the People’s Progressive Party’s official Facebook page.
“To all descendants, residents, and people of the great Island City, I wish to extend appreciation over concerns raised during a recent visit to Banjul which saw me stay for almost 2 months. After a series of consultations, I have decided to throw my hat in the Mayoral bid for Banjul inshaaAllah this year under the ticket of PPP. I count on your support. Watch out for more info coming,” the statement reads.
The party leader of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP), Kebba Jallow hinted last week that his party will put up a candidate in the race for Mayor of Banjul without mentioning any names then.
