The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Presidential Candidate, Sadibou Kamaso yesterday officially unveiled Executive Members of His team ‘Restore Confidence’.
Early March 2022, Kamaso announced his intention to run for the GFF Presidency against the incumbent Lamin Kaba Bajo, who is seeking a third term in the office.
During the launch of his manifesto in March, Kamaso said if elected, the winner of the GFF First Division League will go home with a staggering D1.5 million.
He vowed to improve grassroots football regularization and development, league development and professionalism, among others.
Shortly after unveiling the “Restore Confidence” executive members, Kamaso said his team would transform the Gambia Football Federation, if elected.
“The ‘Restore Confidence Team’ has the objective to focus on four key areas and one of them is rebranding and remodelling of Gambia Football Federation Institution. Because wherever you go and call yourself an executive of GFF, they look at you as an individual who is corrupt or an individual who is involved in issues that do not conform with the ethics of football.
“Our football has endured excruciating pain for the past years. We are in a position where no regional football academy tournaments have been held. We are in a position where regional football associations are given subventions and they struggle to get those subventions, even if they do, they get them in piecemeal.
“Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a workaholic, but I am seeing workaholics behind me. I know we can do this job and I do not want a rubber-stamp executive. All I want is an executive where we are going to clash. We disagree and agree to run Gambian football,” Kamaso told the gathering .
Sadibou Kamaso is the Secretary-General and Chief executive officer of the current GFF First Division league leaders, Hawks Football Club.
Kamaso is also a businessperson and helps manage Gambia International Footballer Musa Barrow of Bologna.
