The leader of the Gambia Democratic Congress has expressed condolences to country’s former leader Yahya Jammeh on the demise of his mother Aja Asombi Bojang,
Bojang died on Friday after a brief illness in Equatorial Guinea where she was staying with her only son, Jammeh.
“Mamma Kandeh on behalf of the GDC party wishes to express his profound and heartfelt condolence to the Jammeh, Bojang and Manga family over the death of Aja Asombi Bojang, who passed away last Friday in Malabo—Equatorial Guinea,” said GDC in a press statement.
“The GDC shares the grief that the former President and his family are feeling and we send to them our prayerful thoughts and sympathetic sentiments at this difficult moment.”
Asombi’s remains is expected to be brought back to the country for burial at a date that is yet to be revealed.
