The Gambia For All Party on Saturday unveiled its manifesto for the 2026 presidential election, laying out an agenda centered on food security, economic diversification, human development, and government accountability.
The document, called the Four Pillars Manifesto, sets out the party’s governing priorities and its vision for the country should it win the presidential election.
The four pillars focus on building a food-secure and self-reliant nation; a modern, diversified, and resilient economy; a healthy, skilled, and empowered population; and a competent, efficient, and accountable state.
In introducing the manifesto, the party offered a stark assessment of The Gambia’s economic and social conditions, arguing that successive governments had failed to deliver on promises of improved living standards and greater economic opportunity.
“For far too long, Gambians have carried the weight of unfulfilled promises,” the party said. “We have endured decades of misrule, watched opportunities slip through our fingers, and seen the hopes of 2016 fade into disappointment.”
The party pointed in particular to the challenges facing farmers, arguing that domestic producers struggle to support their families while Gambian markets remain heavily dependent on imported food.
It also raised concerns about the country’s reliance on remittances from Gambians living abroad and the limited economic opportunities available to young people, which it said continue to push some toward dangerous irregular migration routes in search of better prospects.
The manifesto also criticized the condition of public services and institutions, including schools and hospitals, which the party said had been weakened by years of neglect, poor management, and inadequate planning.
“Our schools, hospitals, and public institutions, once symbols of national pride, have been weakened by neglect, incompetence, and a lack of vision,” the party said.
Despite those challenges, the party said The Gambia has significant potential, pointing to its agricultural resources, youthful population, and national institutions as foundations for future development.
The party said realizing that potential would require stronger leadership, more effective public institutions, and policies aimed at reducing the country’s dependence on imports and external support.
Through the manifesto, Gambia For All said it intends to pursue greater self-reliance in food production, energy, and economic development while strengthening government institutions and improving accountability.
The manifesto is expected to form the foundation of the party’s policy platform as it campaigns ahead of the 2026 presidential election.
