South Sudan coach, Stefan Cusin, said Mali, and The Gambia are the favourites to qualify from the group but warned that his side can be the surprise of the group.
“The two fans’ favourite teams are Mali and Gambia. Congo Brazzaville has something less and we are young. We just started. We can be the surprise of the group. We want to be the surprise of the group; in any case, we want to grow through these games because when you play better teams, it’s an opportunity for you to know your powers, and the direction you’re taking. This is very important for us. We want to play a competitive game with Gambia, playing good football and playing as a team,” the South Sudan Head Coach said
Coach Stefan made the remarks while speaking to journalists at a pre-march press conference in Senegal on Friday.
South Sudan are set to face the Scorpions on Saturday at the Stade Lat Dior in Thies, Senegal in their quest to book an AFCON ticket.
