Musa Barrow’s late equaliser made the Scorpions of the Gambia share points with the Eagles of Mali in the Sunday’s encounter.

The Scorpions were trailing 1-0 against the Eagles in the 90th minute when a ball hit the hand of Mali’s Yves Bissouma for a penalty in which Musa Barrow converted to level the score line.

The Eagles took the lead in the 79th minute of the game after a VAR review by the central referee to award a penalty against the Gambia.

Ibrahima Kone stepped up for Mali to score from the penalty spot and gave them a lead in the game.

However, the Gambia took control of the game when their Coach Tom Sanfiet introduced Modou Barrow, Ebrima Colley and Muhammad Badamosi in the 80th minute of the game.

The exchange of passes between the Gambian substitutes created the penalty after Ebrima Colley hit the ball on the right hand of the Malian, Yves Bissouma, in the 93rd minute of the game.

The referee awarded the Scorpions a penalty after a VAR review.

The Gambian Bologna forward Musa Barrow stepped up and sent the Malian goalkeeper in the wrong way to level the score for the Gambia.

The game ended 1-1 with both teams needing only a point to qualify to the next round of the competition.
