In a dispatch, Brikama Area Council has set 2nd February 2022 as the deadline for defaulters to settle their tax arrears for 2021 and beyond.
“As we enter the New Year, the Management of Brikama Area Council wants to sincerely thank its esteemed taxpayers for their compliance in paying their dues and wish them a happy, healthy and prosperous 2022.
“In a similar vein, Management wishes to urge defaulters to settle their arrears for 2021 and beyond in the form of rates and trade license fees at various designated revenue sub-stations within its jurisdiction,” the statement said on Thursday.
The statement added that the names of the defaulters of the 2nd February deadline would be published and broadcast in the media.
“The deadline for payments is Wednesday 2nd February 2022, upon the expiration of the stipulated deadline, the council will institute legal actions against defaulters and publish and broadcast their names in both the print and broadcast media. Finally, Council solicits the total cooperation of the public to pay their respective dues in order to enhance the continuity of services delivery,” the statement added.
