Essa Mbye Faal, leader of the APP Sobeyaa Political Party, has secured the backing of women from Brufut and pledged to actively involve women and youth in decision-making if elected president.

Faal made the remarks during a meeting with Brufut women at his residence, emphasizing his commitment to transparency and accountability in public finance.

“I promise if you elect me, Gambia’s money will go for the development of the country. It would not be put into individual pockets,” Faal stated.

He further assured that his administration would put an end to misinformation by officials, particularly ministers, and focus on policies that empower youth and women, which he described as essential for the country’s progress.

“I am urging you to help us and help yourself. We come together and change the Gambia,” he added.

Faal also called on Gambians to critically evaluate the current state of the country. He described the existing government as “playful” and questioned the allocation of over D50 million for public engagement tours, asking, “Where did that over D50 million go?”

He criticized the current administration’s lack of expertise and focus, arguing that a government not grounded in knowledge cannot address citizens’ concerns effectively. Faal expressed confidence that Gambians will recognize the need for change and support the formation of a government that is committed and competent.
