Presidential Election: President Barrow Optimistic of Victory, Ready To Accept Results

The leader of the National People’s Party (NPP), President Adama Barrow is optimistic of victory in the ongoing presidential election and expressed readiness to accept the results of today’s election
“We will never lose this election; it will be the biggest landslide victory in the history of this country. I enjoyed unprecedented support in this country. You have been following my campaign and my campaign was very very successful. I think the message was very clear. I am your leader who focuses on development and that development will continue in this country. I know in the next 24 hours, my people will be celebrating victory in this country. I am going to win with the biggest landslide. Even you (the journalists) know that I have unprecedented support in this country, so I will be the winner. I am ready to accept the results, but I know that I am going to win this election,” Barrow said.
Gambians are currently voting to elect a new leader to run their affairs for the next five years. 962, 157 voters registered are expected to cast their votes at 1554 polling stations across the country for the 6 candidates.
The winner of the election is expected to be announced as soon as vote count ends.
