Police Announce Promotion Of 158 Officers To Senior Ranks

The Inspector General of Police, Abdoulie Sanyang has today announced the promotion of 158 police officers to various senior ranks.

“…effective 1st August 2022 and having been approved by the Ministry of Public Service, Administrative Reform, Policy Coordination and Delivery, the office of the Inspector General of Police is pleased to inform the general public that it has officially published the list of one hundred and fifty-eight ( 158 ) police officers who have been promoted to various senior police ranks,” in a statement by the police said on Saturday.

The promoted officers shall shoulder the ranks of Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, Chief Superintendents, Superintendents, Deputy Superintendents, and Assistant Superintendents of police, the statement added.

It stated that the “massive” promotion is in line with the new strategic plans of The Gambia Police Force geared towards building capacities of officers, and promoting deserving personalities, following due process and procedure.

“While the office of The IGP congratulates the newly promoted officers, he enjoins them to continue serving the nation with utmost dedication and commitment and uphold democratic values that are in tandem with internationally recognized standards and best practices,” it concluded.
