The ruling National People’s Party rolled out a Nine-Point Plan on Friday for the 2027-to-2031 period, laying out pledges to combat corruption, expand local food production, and reinforce governance across the country.
The plan was launched alongside the party’s broader manifesto and a set of new digital platforms, which officials described as a practical roadmap for the party’s priorities over the next presidential term.
The first of the nine points, focused on good governance and public service delivery, commits the party to greater transparency, stronger anti-corruption enforcement, and improved accountability measures. Party officials said the aim is to ensure citizens receive fair, timely, and respectful treatment from government institutions.
The plan states that under President Adama Barrow’s leadership, the party is committed to honest and accountable governance, institutions capable of delivering results, expanded opportunities for youth and women, protections for children and other vulnerable groups, and the preservation of peace, unity, and national stability. It also frames sustainable development as a priority for both current and future generations.
The remaining points address a wide range of policy areas, including national security, justice and the rule of law; education, skills and human capital development; health, social protection and family welfare; agriculture, food security and rural development; energy, infrastructure, housing and basic services; youth and women’s empowerment and children’s rights; information and communications technology; and environmental protection and natural resource management.
