Gambian businessperson, Muhammad Jah has applauded the exemplary leadership of the Mayor of Kanifing Municipality, Talib Bensouda.
At a handing over ceremony earlier on Thursday, Jah described the young Mayor as an example of a good leader; after Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) successfully paid the $2m loan, it received from Qgroup.
“What brought us here today is the fact that a Gambian company believes in a Gambian Mayor. Nobody will give $2m to a Mayor who has just come into office, who did not find any money in the coffers to buy these trucks. We at the Qgroup believe in the Mayor (Talib Bensouda) and he has fulfilled all the promises he has given to us (Qgroup). So, the English language says ‘action speaks louder than voice’. That is why we are celebrating today. Talib is an example of a very good leader and we should all encourage him,” the businessman said at the handing over ceremony.
Muhammad Jah has confirmed that the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) has paid the $2M (over D100M) loan it received from Qgroup to secure the ‘Mbalit’ project trucks; and that the vehicles belong to the council.
Mr Muhammed Jah and the Q Group stemmed in to loan the Kanifing Municipal Council over Hundred Million Dalasi (D100m) to secure the buying of the KMC ‘Mbalit’ project trucks.
