The Gambia’s men Beach Volleyball Team will face South Africa at the final of the Commonwealth Games Beach Volleyball Africa qualifiers.
The final will be played at 3pm today at the Ghanaian capital, Accra.
“Yes, we are in the final. We beat host Ghana 2-1. Gambia will face South Africa in the finals and the winner will represent Africa at the Commonwealth Games Birmingham 2022,” the Gambia Volleyball Federation announced in a statement earlier today.
The Gambia earlier beat the host Ghana in the semifinals, before booking their place at today’s final, the statement added.
The national beach volleyball teams (men and women) on Thursday morning departed for Ghana ahead of the Commonwealth Games Beach Volleyball qualifiers.
The men and women teams left the country for the games; but the women crashed out of the competition and the road to Birmingham 2022; after losing to Rwanda 2-0.
