The Gambia Immigration Department (GID) has announced that its mobile biometric passport enrollment team will be deployed to Spain and Italy from April 27 to May 12, 2026, to facilitate the processing of biometric passports for Gambians in the diaspora.
According to a statement issued by the department, the initiative is being conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Gambians Abroad. It is aimed at enabling Gambians residing in Europe to regularize their status and obtain valid travel documents.
The GID urged Gambians living in Spain, Italy, and across Europe to take advantage of the exercise, noting that enrollment services will be provided at designated locations in both countries, as outlined in an accompanying flyer.
Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable fee of 120 euros through the official payment portal. The department added that payments may also be made in person via a Banco Sabadell account.
Reaffirming its commitment to improving service delivery, the GID stated that the initiative forms part of broader efforts to enhance access to essential documentation for Gambians abroad, facilitate lawful travel, and safeguard their rights and interests.
