Ba Jamba Bojang, the first National President of the United Democratic Party (UDP), addressed speculations surrounding his alleged meeting with the president today, dismissing claims that he is set to join the NPP. The rumours, originating from the president’s camp, suggested a potential political switch by Bojang.

A State House photographer chimed in on a Facebook post: “Another BIG Catch, Captain’s Navigation continues, Brufut jackpot.”

In a similar vein, an NPP supporter took to Facebook, proclaiming, “Another big fish in NPP net. Happy NPP weekend. The Brufut UDP main man in NPP net.”

However, Bojang refuted these allegations during an interview with Kerr Fatou Media, emphasizing that his commitment to integrity outweighs any allure of money or positions.

He disclosed that the rumours had been concocted by his nephew, Serign Bojang, who falsely asserted that a meeting with President Adama Barrow was on the horizon. Bojang admitted that his nephew’s motive was to capitalize on his name for financial benefits. He acknowledged that his nephew had approached him on two occasions – first during the chairmanship elections and, more recently, using the offer of a chieftaincy appointment to entice him into joining the NPP.

“I told him if I go to Adama Barrow, have a meeting with him, and join the NPP, I will not return to Brufut. I told him that I’d rather die than do that because what I believe in is more valuable than all the money and positions,” Bojang declared. “I am in the UDP because I believe in them, and I have seen how the country is suffering, and this is increasing every day. How will I join that government? There’s no truth in what they are spreading. I am not going to NPP today, and I am not going to NPP tomorrow, and I am not moved by any position. My integrity is more important than this money or any position,” he affirmed.

Ba Jamba Bojang serves as the first National President of the United Democratic Party (UDP).
