The Scorpions of the Gambia have stung the Lions of Chinguetti of Mauritania on day 4 of the 33rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2021) in Limbe, Cameroon.

The Scorpions took the lead in the 10th minute of the match through Ablie Jallow’s sensational outside the box shot.

The game ended 1-0 in favour of the Scorpions of the Gambia in their maiden appearance at the continental football showpiece.

In the early kick off, Mali eased past Tunisia 1-0 with Ibrahima Kone scoring for Mali from the penalty spot in the 48th minute of the game.

Tunisia were awarded a penalty in the 76th minute of the game, but their Captain Wahbi Khazri failed to convert it into a goal from 12 yards.
