President Barrow Receiving The National Flag From Gina Bass

President  Adama Barrow gave D500,000 to the entire Tokyo team at a ceremony held at State House on Thursday evening. 
At the same ceremony, he presented a new Nissan Kicks car to the team Captain Gina Bass  for her performance in the 100 and 200 metres races at the games.
The President said the presentation by his government is meant to show appreciation to Gina and the entire team for the success they registered at the 2020 Olympic games held in Tokyo, Japan.
Barrow said the the success they registered by the team raised the Gambia’s name higher at the 2020 Olympic.
President Barrow expressed heartfelt gratitude to the team and commended them for their commitment.
The Olympians with the executive members of Gambia National Olympic Committee [GNOC] with their trainers, and team medics were accompanied to the State House by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Deputy Permanent Secretary Technical, as well as Executive Director and staff of the National Sports Council.
In his appreciation remark, Honourable Bakary Y. Badjie, the Minister of Youth and Sports equally expressed delight over the gesture so far taken by the Government under President Adama Barrow.
He reiterated Government’s commitment to support sports and the young people of the Gambia.
Minister Badjie assured the Olympic Committee of continuous working relationship, and Government’s commitment to supports all sporting disciplines.
He emphasised that he is always proud of athletes who represented The Gambia at the International level.
