Trust Bank has presented a cheque of $10,000 to SOS Children’s Villages The Gambia in a formal ceremony, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and community investment.

The donation is intended to support children and caregivers within the organization, addressing daily needs across food, clothing, and other essential provisions, while also contributing to improved living conditions and the long-term welfare and development of the children in their care.

Addressing guests at the presentation ceremony, Trust Bank Managing Director Njilan Senghore underscored the institution’s belief that investing in children is foundational to the nation’s future.

“Over the years, SOS Children’s Village has become a symbol of hope for countless children who have faced difficult circumstances. It is a place where young people find not only shelter, but also love, guidance, stability, and the opportunity to dream without limits. Here, children are surrounded by caring individuals who nurture their talents, build their confidence, and help them discover their potential,” she said. “At Trust Bank, we are honored to play a small role in supporting this noble mission.”

Senghore described the partnership as a reflection of shared values, citing care, inclusion, responsibility, and sustainable development as guiding principles common to both organizations.

“As The Gambia’s leading indigenous bank, we recognize that investing in children is one of the most impactful investments we can make,” she added. “The future of our nation depends on the opportunities we create for today’s young people.”

National Director of SOS Children’s Villages The Gambia, Jean Pierre Kouamin, welcomed the contribution, describing it as a meaningful and timely boost to the organization’s ongoing work. He noted that the funds would strengthen SOS Children’s Villages’ capacity to deliver family-based care and essential services to children who have lost parental care.
