Local leaders in the West Coast Region on Saturday praised President Adama Barrow for delivering a major health facility in Farato, using the commissioning ceremony to endorse his bid for re-election in the December presidential election.

Speaking during the inauguration of the National Emergency Treatment Center and Biomedical Engineering Hospital, community leaders credited the president with fulfilling a longstanding promise and urged residents to support his administration at the polls.

Fatou Sowe, the Alkalo of Farato, welcomed President Barrow and his delegation, describing the hospital as a landmark development for the village and the wider West Coast Region.

She said the community would demonstrate its appreciation by backing the president in the Dec. 5 election, arguing that residents had benefited from his administration and should continue supporting his leadership.

“We are happy that this hospital is located in our village,” she said. “When the president laid the foundation stone, many doubted the project would be completed, but President Barrow has fulfilled the promises he made since taking office.”

Sowe also praised what she described as the peace and stability maintained under the current administration, urging residents to preserve those gains through continued support for the president.

Falalo Touray, the chief of Kombo South, echoed those sentiments, saying continued public support for President Barrow would allow ongoing development projects to be completed while creating opportunities for new investments.

He said the pace of development witnessed over the past two to three years under the Barrow administration was unprecedented in the country’s history and expressed confidence that another term would accelerate national progress.

“If you give the president another five to 10 years, he will register 10 times the developments already achieved,” Touray said.

The chief also encouraged citizens to safeguard their voter registration cards and called on compound heads and village leaders to mobilize their communities ahead of the Dec. 5 presidential election.

“President Barrow will be surprised by the level of victory he will receive in this December 2026 election,” he said.
