President Adama Barrow has urged Gambians to unite and work for the progress of the nation.
“Following #GambiaDecide2021, the IEC declaration that I am the winner of the December 4th Presidential election, this morning, I received calls from Mr Essa Mbye Fall and Mr Abdoulie Ebrima Jammeh fellow contestants in the elections. They both congratulated me on my victory and we shared best wishes. As for me, The #Gambia is the winner. Let us all unite and work for the progress of the nation. Thank you #Gambia #Gambians,” Barrow posted on Facebook on Sunday.
He made the remarks following his re-election in a landslide victory in the just concluded presidential election.
Despite a joint statement by the United Democratic Party, Gambia Democratic Congress and Independent candidate, Essa Mbye Faal with their partners alleging electoral malpractices; the election is widely described as peaceful and transparent by local an international observers.
