Jammeh grateful for gov’t’s support after mother’s death
Through his Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction party, former president Yahya Jammeh has expressed gratitude to government of the Gambia for their support following his mother’s demise.
Jammeh’s mother Aja Asombi Bojang has died in Equatorial Guinea where her only son lives in exile since his unexpected fall from power in December, 2016.
Her body was returned to the country for burial on Saturday.
“We therefore want to assure you that the party has recognized your support, and assistance you have rendered in these difficult moments which has lifted the spirit of a united Gambia,” said a letter which was addressed to President Barrow.
Bojang’s remains was already transported to her home village for burial which is expected to be at 7p.m.
