“It Happens Nowhere In The Continent,” Dr. Ceesay On President Barrow’s Ongoing Projects

Gambia’s Minister of Information, Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, has lauded President Adama Barrow’s ongoing development projects, stating that such progress is unmatched across the African continent.
“I think this is unprecedented for the first time we have seen a multi-project taking place in this country. Last week, we looked at the roads, state-of-the-art roads that will transform transportation, that will transform tourism, and trade in this country. Today we look at the Health Care Sector, 1,500 beds with all the latest facilities that are there, including the new modern labs. Not only that, we also came to look at the stadium, Higher Education, all these sectors, and parallel development. It happens nowhere on the continent. Nowhere in the world where a government as resource-constrained as the Gambia can engage and initiate parallel multi-sector projects—health care, Higher Education, Sports, Infrastructure, I haven’t seen it anywhere,” Dr. Ceesay said.
These remarks came after President Adama Barrow concluded his inspection of several ongoing projects, including the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
Dr. Ceesay credited President Barrow’s vision, foresight, and innovative resource management as key drivers of these projects, noting that much of the funding is generated internally, with additional support from international partners.
“But it is his vision that brings this about, so I think we need to thank him. This is good for the Gambia, this gives us hope. Not only that, but remember, we came from a transition. It is difficult for a country to undergo a transition from dictatorship to democracy, maintaining that transition and make it successful while at the same time undergoing projects in different sectors. I have not seen it anywhere in the world,” he told journalists.
He also highlighted the transformation in the energy sector and agricultural advancements in Jahally Pachar and Sapo.
“So His Excellency is a visionary leader; we need to thank him, and with little time, we will see the fruits of these infrastructural developments that will benefit every Gambian to the last mile of this country. I also forget the energy sector. We have transformed the entire energy sector. So not only sports, not only Higher Education, Health Care, Infrastructure, also Energy, also Agriculture. Go to Jahally Pachar, go to Sapo, and see what we are doing. This is unprecedented, and I thank His Excellency for his foresight and vision,” Dr. Ceesay told Journalists.
