Kerr Fatou has learnt that former Gambian President Yahya A.J.J Jammeh has finally lost his Mansion in the U.S in a legal battle.

The mansion he bought in a suburb of Washington, D.C., U.S. when he was the Gambian president is more his.

The mansion in Potomac, Maryland worth about $3.5 million, was believed to have been bought by him with the “corruption proceeds”, has been finally forfeited to the U.S government, thanks to the Justice Department civil forfeiture complaint against Jammeh.

The development happened today after a judge ruled against the former Gambian leader now in exile in Equatorial Guinea.

In a VOA report in July 2020, the U.S. authorities though the Justice Department said in a civil forfeiture complaint seeking to seize the property that Jammeh bought it with “corruption proceeds”.
