Five Gambian Lawmakers Sworn-in As Pan-African Parliament Members

Five members of Gambia’s sixth Legislature have been sworn-in as members of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) in Johannesburg, South Africa.

They took their oaths on Tuesday with other parliamentarians from different legislatures of the countries and regions of the continent.

The Gambia’s delegation include Honourable Salifu Jawo, member for Jokadou; Honourable Sulayman Saho, member for Central Badibou; Honourable Maimuna Ceesay, nominated member; Honourable Suwaibou Touray, member for Wuli East; and Honourable Alhagie Mbowe, member for Upper Saloum. Honourable Alhagie Mbowe led the delegation.

The African Parliament is composed of five members per member state, including at least one woman per delegation selected by their national legislatures.
