Dr Banja Granted Bail

Banjul High Court on Thursday charged the permanent secretary at the Ministry of Fisheries and Water Resources, Dr Bamba Banja with three counts of economic crimes and remanded him but he was held at the police head quarters in Banjul.

However, Kerr Fatou learnt that he has been granted Bail Friday and his trial would continue on 20^thOctober 2021.

“Dr. Bamba Banja was today granted bail by the High Court. The trial is starting on Wednesday 20th October 2021, and the state will call their first witness,” a lawyer told Kerr Fatou.

Dr Banja denied the charges preferred against him, before the presiding judge adjourned the matter to Friday (today) for the court to hear the bail application for Dr Banja.
