The leader of Citizens’ Alliance (CA) Dr Ismaila Ceesay has met and congratulated President-elect Adama Barrow on his election victory.
“It was a great pleasure meeting President Adama Barrow to congratulate him, extend our goodwill and explore possibilities of collaboration to build our country. We in Citizens’ Alliance believe that political parties should coexist, collaborate, compete and where necessary challenge each other. Let’s move on and start building our country for the next generation. We owe it to them,” Ceesay said on Facebook on Wednesday morning.
Dr Ismaila Ceesay is the standard-bearer of the opposition Citizens Alliance. However, his party did not contest the December presidential election because the Independent Electoral Commission disqualified its candidate. The party later sued the commission and the court ruled that the commission’s decision did not comply with the law.
