National Assembly to Begin 2025 Budget Session on October 31

The Office of the Clerk of the National Assembly has announced that the Fourth Ordinary Session—commonly referred to as the Budget Session—of the 2025 Legislative Year will convene on Friday, 31st October 2025, and conclude on Wednesday, 17 December 2025.

According to the statement, members of the National Assembly will, during this period, deliberate on the Draft Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure of the Government of The Gambia for the 2026 fiscal year. The session will also feature other parliamentary business, including oral questions to ministers, committee and delegation reports, as well as the presentation of motions and bills.

The statement further notes that daily sittings will commence promptly at 10:00 a.m., and those wishing to attend must obtain an admittance card from the Office of the Clerk at the Assembly’s entrance gate.

“Daily sitting commences at 10:00 am prompt. All those who wish to attend the daily sittings are requested to obtain an admittance card from the Office of the Clerk at the entrance gate,” the statement said.

The National Assembly also reminded members of the public to observe the prescribed dress code—traditional attire or a suit—and to maintain silence during proceedings in accordance with parliamentary decorum.
