Trust Bank on Thursday donated D200,000 to Bansang General Hospital, reaffirming its longstanding commitment to strengthening The Gambia’s healthcare system.
The funds have been earmarked for the procurement of critical items identified through consultations with the hospital’s management, ensuring that the support directly addresses the institution’s most urgent needs.
Speaking on behalf of Managing Director Alex Alasan Gomez, the bank’s head of Marketing and Business Development said the donation underscores the strong partnership between Trust Bank and Bansang General Hospital. He also congratulated the hospital on the recent installation of an ATM machine and urged staff and community members to safeguard the facility so it continues to ease financial transactions for patients and their families.
“We remain proud of our role in supporting the hospital’s mission to deliver quality healthcare,” he said. “Bansang General Hospital is a cornerstone of health service delivery for communities in the Central River Region and beyond.”
He added that Trust Bank’s interventions are guided by its belief in investing in institutions that have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of Gambians.
The donation was warmly welcomed by regional authorities. The Governor of the Central River Region, Ousman Bah, expressed appreciation to Trust Bank, noting that the support would significantly benefit both staff and patients. He highlighted the hospital’s critical role in providing healthcare services not only across The Gambia but also to patients from neighboring countries.

The chief executive officer of Bansang General Hospital, Masiranding Njie, expressed gratitude to Trust Bank and highlighted the bank’s consistent support for public health facilities over the years. He commended Trust Bank’s commitment to improving service delivery and assured that the contribution will significantly enhance the hospital’s operations.
