The Gambia’s minister of trade, industry, regional integration, and employment said in a recent televised interview that President Adama Barrow’s leadership has become a central factor in attracting investment and fostering economic growth.
Speaking to Teledal TV, the minister described the president as a “key selling point” for the country, citing his business acumen and familiarity with economic challenges as critical assets in positioning The Gambia as an appealing destination for investors.
“One of the most important selling points that we have is Brand Adama Barrow,” the minister said. “This is a leader who understands business, who is quite patient, and who has deep knowledge and understanding of the economic challenges that we confront.”
The minister argued that leadership has played a decisive role in improving the country’s investment climate, contrasting the current administration with previous periods. He said that while earlier years were marked by rhetoric, they did not yield substantial investment on the ground.
“Before Adama Barrow, we have seen that there was a big loud noise, but there was no serious investment on the ground. Today, that situation has significantly changed thanks to Brand President Adama Barrow,” he said.
He added that sustained economic progress would depend on maintaining strong leadership, emphasizing that the administration’s approach has helped lay a foundation for continued growth.
“Brand Adama Barrow is the brand that we can rely on, and that’s the brand we can also support in transforming this particular economy from its current base to a new height,” he said.
