The Gambia Police Force (GPF) is investigating two distinct alleged murder cases involving minors in the North Bank Region, both reported on September 29, 2025.

In Ndofan Village, a four-year-old boy, Musa Manneh, reportedly sustained a fatal head injury after being struck with a stone by a 16-year-old, Samba Faal. The suspect is currently under investigation, and arrangements are underway for a psychiatric evaluation.

In a separate incident in Daru Rilwan, an altercation between two minors, Modou Njie (15) and Mutarr Jawara (13), resulted in Modou’s death. According to police, the incident occurred after a motorcycle accident involving the boys while they were en route to cut grass for their horses. During the dispute, Mutarr allegedly stabbed Modou in the neck with a sickle, causing fatal injuries. Modou was pronounced dead at Njaba Kunda Health Centre.

Crime scene investigators visited both locations. In Daru Rilwan, the sickle alleged to be the weapon was recovered, along with other relevant evidence, for forensic examination. ”Crime scene investigators visited both scenes. In the Daru Rilwan case, the sickle believed to be the murder weapon, along with other related evidence, was recovered for forensic analysis,” the police stated.

The GPF is calling on parents and guardians to exercise greater vigilance over minors, encourage peaceful conflict resolution, and ensure that dangerous objects are kept out of children’s reach.
