The Gambia Police Force (GPF), through its ongoing Operation Restore Tranquility, has arrested 20 individuals in Kololi suspected of involvement in various unlawful activities.
According to the GPF, the arrests were carried out by officers from the Kairaba Police Station, who targeted identified criminal hideouts across the Kanifing Municipality. The suspects include seven men and thirteen women of Gambian, Senegalese, and Nigerian nationalities.
Police authorities confirmed that all suspects were screened by the Criminal Intelligence Unit before being handed over to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further inquiry.
“Two were found selling liquor and operating bars without the requisite licenses,” the police stated. “Consequently, eighteen suspects have been cautioned and charged with Rogues and Vagabonds, while the two involved in illicit liquor sales have been charged with Sale of Liquor Without a License.”
The GPF emphasized that Operation Restore Tranquility is part of its broader strategy to enhance community safety, disrupt criminal activities, and reinforce preventive policing mechanisms.
