Demba Sabally, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Security, has declared his intention to sponsor a candidate against Almameh Gibba, the National Assembly Member representing Foni Kansala, in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
“I will invest my resources, campaign, and ensure we defeat him,” Sabally said during a reception for Bakary M. Manga, the No-To-Alliance candidate for the recent Bantanjang Ward by-election.
Sabally criticized Gibba for allegedly introducing foreign political influences into Foni Bondali and for targeting local elders and women. He also highlighted that Manga chose to join the ruling National People’s Party after observing development initiatives in Bantanjang Ward.
The tension between Sabally and Gibba has escalated in recent months, particularly during the Bantanjang Ward by-election, where both political figures engaged in personal attacks against one another.
