Gambia’s 2025/2026 Tourism Season Set to Open on October 4

The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, in partnership with The Gambia Tourism Board (GTBoard), has announced that the country’s 2025/2026 tourism season will officially begin with the arrival of the first UK charter flight on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

According to GTBoard, the inaugural flight, operated by Gambia Experience, is scheduled to land at Banjul International Airport at 1:30 p.m. The occasion will be marked with a special reception to warmly welcome visitors.

“To celebrate this important occasion, special arrangements have been made to ensure a warm and memorable welcome for arriving visitors,” the GT Board stated.
The program will include traditional music, dance, and other cultural performances designed to highlight The Gambia’s rich heritage. The event is also expected to draw coverage from both local and international media, further promoting the country’s diverse tourism offerings.

The Ministry and GTBoard expressed their gratitude to industry partners and stakeholders for their continued collaboration and support in ensuring a successful start to the season.
