In a tragic incident, German police allegedly shot and killed one Lamin Touray, a Gambian resident in Germany.

The news spread rapidly on social media, prompting widespread condemnation from members of the Gambian community. Among those voicing their outrage was migration activist Ebrima Drammeh, who criticized the handling of the situation. Drammeh expressed disbelief that a group of trained German police officers couldn’t disarm a knife-wielding suspect without resorting to lethal force. He raised concerns about potential racial bias, calling for a thorough investigation and justice for the victim.

“What I saw here is that they just killed him intentionally because he was holding the knife, moving around so that they not get close to him. He didn’t attack anybody. They can handle the situation better, and they know better, they just killed him. That’s all I see here. Awful just awful. I cannot understand how a group of well-trained German Police Officers couldn’t disarm a suspect armed with a knife without resorting to shooting him. I think the intention was to eliminate him due to the colour of his skin. How sad! This calls for investigation and justice,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

Details about Touray’s life and the circumstances surrounding his death remain limited at this time. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
