According to DLEAG, the suspects include 49-year-old Kebba Singhateh, who was found in possession of 4,000 ecstasy pills, and 49-year-old Sulay Kebbeh, who was caught with 10,002 pills. A subsequent search in Brusubi linked to the same suspects led to the discovery of an additional 18,137 ecstasy pills.

In a separate incident, 34-year-old Yusupha Sowe was also arrested in Brusubi with 900 suspected ecstasy pills.

“34-year-old Yusupha Sowe was also arrested with nine hundred (900) pills of suspected ecstasy at Brusubi,” the agency stated.

DLEAG confirmed that all three suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.

In a statement, the agency commended its Counter Trafficking and Intelligence (CTI) and Senegambia commands, along with all officers involved, for their “steadfastness and commitment” in the fight against drug trafficking.

“DLEAG commends and congratulates CTI and Senegambia commands as well as all the gallant officers of the agency for their steadfastness and commitment to bridling drugs and related activities in the country,” the agency noted.

“The agency remains unwavering in its resolve to combat drug abuse and illicit trafficking in The Gambia,” DLEAG assured, while calling on the public for continued collaboration and support in tackling the drug menace.
