President Adama Barrow and his Senegalese counterpart, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, concluded their meeting at the State House in Banjul on Saturday without addressing the press or issuing an official communiqué.
President Faye is in The Gambia on a one-day working visit.
Members of the media had earlier been informed by Deputy Director of Press, Babucarr Sankanu, that there would be no live broadcast of the engagement and that journalists would not be allowed to pose questions. However, he indicated that both leaders would make brief remarks to the press following their talks.
Contrary to expectations, the two presidents exited the meeting without addressing the press. President Faye subsequently proceeded to the Coco Ocean Resort, where he is scheduled to rest ahead of his return to Dakar later in the evening.
