Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, Minister of Information, Media, and Broadcasting Services, has sharply criticized the opposition, asserting that they lack a credible alternative vision for The Gambia, while Gambians have “millions of reasons” to re-elect President Adama Barrow in the December 5 presidential election.
Speaking during his weekly government update program on West Coast Radio, Minister Ceesay said the opposition remains focused on what he described as “pseudo-analysis,” driven primarily by a desire to capture the State House rather than present viable policy alternatives.
He argued, however, that unseating President Barrow would be difficult, citing what he characterized as the administration’s extensive development record.
“The amount of explosive development the man has embarked on is not only in Gambia but in the sub-region; no country is doing it at the moment. No country,” he said.
The Information Minister pointed to what he described as significant progress across key sectors, including road infrastructure, electricity, water supply, education, healthcare, sports development, youth engagement, and women’s empowerment.
He further credited the Barrow administration with strengthening democratic governance, maintaining stability, and promoting peace and tolerance nationwide.
“To top it all, democracy, the stability, the peacefulness, the tolerance—all these things combined will take President Barrow back to State House in 2026,” Ceesay added.
