New vehicles on display at UNITE headquarters

The opposition movement, Unite Movement for Change (UMC), on Monday handed over five new pickup trucks to its newly elected regional leaders, a step movement officials said would significantly strengthen its grassroots organizing efforts nationwide.
The vehicles were handed over at the movement’s headquarters in Fajara following last week’s congress, during which regional leaders were elected and bureaus formally opened in every region. The pickups were allocated to regional chairs in the Upper River Region, Lower River Region, North Bank Region, and Central River Region North and South.
In a statement, UMC said the vehicles would allow its regional leadership to “efficiently conduct outreach and community engagements” and improve coordination of movement activities in their respective areas.
Movement officials described the deployment as part of a broader strategy to strengthen what they called a bottom-up approach to political organizing. By expanding its logistical capacity, they said, UMC aims to deepen its presence in rural and underserved communities and ensure more consistent engagement with supporters.
The distribution of the vehicles comes at a time when political parties are increasingly focused on consolidating their structures beyond urban centers, where competition for influence has intensified ahead of future electoral cycles.
With functioning bureaus now established nationwide, UMC leaders said the additional resources would help translate organizational growth into sustained grassroots activity, positioning the movement to expand its reach across all regions of the country.
