Two young men, Momodou Touray and Malick Sillah, have died following a fatal car accident near Fatoto, according to eyewitness reports.
The victims had attended a football match in Basse, which was postponed due to heavy rainfall. On their return journey, their vehicle was involved in a serious crash between Saja Kunda and Wallyba villages.
One of the men succumbed to injuries at Basse Health Center, while the other later died at Bansang Hospital. Several other passengers sustained serious injuries in the accident.
A resident spoke to Kerr Fatou, stating, “They went for a football game in Basse, but because of the heavy rain, the game was postponed to the next day. On their way home, the accident occurred.”
